I feel like the pallet is one of the most important parts, the other is to no over render stuff. EB's art assets have a certain simplicity and jank to them, and trying to make things look too detailed or too nice can make it stand out I've found.

Thanks! I tried to stick to the dimensions of the actual GB screen when I made it and to think about how things would need to be sized to read on it. For example I reduced the rocks & poos size because they would take way too much screen real estate if they stayed proportional to Isaac's size.
